What’s New?

Nothing much…

DSCN1154

This picture could have been taken at any time during the last three months. Fiona sleeping on John? Never! And they both make similar sounds in their sleep, which is very cute. It sounds like they are answering each other.

Fiona continues to grow. Her legs are getting stockier. John swears she was bigger tonight when he came home from work than when he left in the morning, and I don’t doubt it. She’s begun her 3 month growth spurt, complete with sleepless nights for us, extra fussing, and extra spitting up. She’s hungry ALL the time and so am I. She’s getting heavier and lately likes to eat on the move, meaning I have to feed her while walking around. It was cute the first couple of times, but now it’s just uncomfortable. I joined a mom’s group and several ladies have suggested using the Moby to hold her in place while she eats. I’ll give it a try.

Fiona also continues to eat her hands. Now she’s trying to cram both of them in at once. Or she’ll use one to keep the other in. She also looks at her hands and today started holding one hand with the other. Tummy time is going well now that I’ve learned some tricks to keep her interested and not having a meltdown. She’s smiling socially and giggling and getting very happy. I love it when she’s smiling at me. She also likes to “walk” on my stomach.

Warning: Gushy

I love her more and more every day. Sometimes so much that it hurts. I’m glad I have this year off to spend with her, even though my students email me and tell me they miss me. Sometimes I have a hard time believing I’m a mother and that the little girl in my arms is really mine. I feel blessed to have her and every day I think how lucky I really am.
