Definition: When moms try to one-up each other with tales of their children’s intellectual and physical prowess, or else, their children’s problems and illnesses.
I have not experienced this yet because Fiona is so young. Also, because she is a preemie, anything she does on time makes her advanced and no one has any expectations of her. Just being alive is a huge accomplishment for her. However, I can see how this can be a problem for some people.

On another note, it’s National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day. If you know anyone who has lost a pregnancy or a baby, please keep them in your thoughts. It’s one of the toughest tragedies I think a person can face. I have never experienced the loss of an infant, but Fiona could have easily been a stillborn, and I am forever grateful that we made the decision we did.
