Today we went on a Tour of Kitchens around Ventura and Camarillo. There were kitchens in Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, Agoura, and Oak Park, but they were too far away for us. We saw six kitchens, some we liked, some we didn’t like. All the homes we visited also had food provided by local restaurants. It was neat to see different houses and yards as well, and it was the longest period of time that Fiona has been out of the house.
At one of the houses, a woman saw Fiona and asked her age. I only tell people her actual age, not her adjusted age. I also do not mention that she is a preemie unless they ask. When I told the woman 4 1/2 months, she asked if Fiona wasn’t big for her age. Fiona is barely average for her adjusted age of 2 1/2 months, let alone 4 1/2. She’s barely on the charts. I sort of took it as a compliment and figured that the lady didn’t know about the sizes of babies.
Fiona also charmed many people. She smiled at anyone who talked to her and even cooed at someone. Eventually she’d had enough and by the last house was fussing a lot. We came home because I was tired of feeding her in the car and she was tired of her car seat.
All in all it was a good day. Unfortunately, I have no photos. I didn’t take any today and I haven’t uploaded any that I’ve taken during the past week.
