A Brief Trip to the Fair

Today we went to the fair. John stayed home because his back hurt, so my parents, Fiona, and I headed out in the Subi for some good old fashioned country fun.

We parked downtown and walked to the fairgrounds. My parents and Fiona were free, so we only had to pay for me. We had our picture taken and were off to find some food and see some stuff.

We ate corn on the cob and Indian Fry Bread.

Then Fiona started to cry, so I found a place to sit down and sooth her. We watched bungee jumpers in the meantime. My parents went off to go look at the animals (one of my favorite things to do) while I stayed with Fiona. Eventually she calmed down and I put her back in the stroller. Sadly, it was more crowded than I expected for a Tuesday afternoon so we left early. I bought some fudge, but did not eat fish tacos as planned and didn’t see any of the exhibitions. I did see a strange creature run through the Wine Garden.

Next year will be better because she’ll be older and I will be less paranoid.

On the way to the car she woke up hungry, so while I fed her in the backseat (for the second time) my parents went off in search of a new cupcake place somewhere on main street. They returned with six cupcakes – two red velvet, two peanut butter, and two tiramisu. We ate them after dinner. My dad and I really liked the peanut butter. I thought the tiramisu was gross. John and my mom liked it. We will try the red velvet tomorrow.

Update: Red Velvet was good but not great.
