Last night the monitor went off. At one o’clock in the morning, we heard a beep, then it started doing its fast beeping and vibrating. We both jumped out of bed and ran to Fiona’s room. By the time we got there the monitor had stopped making noise. Fiona was sleeping peacefully in the same position she was when I put her in her crib after feeding her two hours earlier. She didn’t even wake up. I believe that it was a false alarm. She sleeps slightly to the side of the crib and it’s possible that she simply rolled off the mat. An hour later, she woke up to eat. Two hours later, she woke up because it was cold. It was a rough night.
Today she spent a considerable amount of time contemplating and playing with my fingers and hand. It was almost like she was comparing it to her own. It’s amazing what small things that seem so insignificant or ordinary to me can fascinate Fiona for hours.
Here she is sitting in her Bumbo again:
Here she is playing with a hair band of mine:
She clutches anything in her hands very tightly.
Lying in her crib:
The afghan was made by a the wife of a friend of my brother’s. She made it before Fiona was born, so she used neutral colors. Another one just like it won an award at her local fair. There are little bear ears all over it.
Self portraits:
Here she is trying to roll over, from back to tummy. She’s almost there, but her arm is still under her. She does not seem very interested in rolling from tummy to back, although she has rolled that way many times. However, she is aggressively trying to roll back to tummy.
Of course she is eating her hand. It’s her favorite “toy”.
Playing with the panda that my mom got her when she was still in the hospital.
It’s her first stuffed animal.
