I still can’t believe it! She doesn’t even look like the same baby. If it wasn’t for her little mouse chewed left ear, I might not know that she really is the same girl.
Fiona then:
Fiona now:
Her funny ear (sorry it’s fuzzy, we hadn’t quite worked out how to take focused photos without the flash):
Believe it or not, she inherited this ear from me. My right ear also has a little bite taken out of it.
Her other ear is more normal looking:
Fiona is still in the hospital, but she’s doing well. She’s just about 5 pounds 10 ounces and 19 inches long. She’s now on the charts for a very small newborn. Not bad considering her adjusted age is minus two and a half weeks. This also means that she’s two pounds heavier and 2 and a half inches longer than when she was born. She’s taking about half of her feeds by bottle, and it up to 50mL per feeding. She’s also really starting to breastfeed and get milk (yes, this might be a little TMI for some, but all the moms out there will know why this is a big deal).
Have I mentioned how much I love this little peanut? I call her my Fi-nut! My Fi-nut butter and jelly sandwich, after the main course in most of my lunches during my pregnancy. In the first trimester it was one of the only things I could eat that did not make me even more nauseous than I already was.
Here she is being a little princess and then waving away the paparazzi.
WOW!! She's so big now!!! Look at her grow!!! Go, Fi!!!
