One of Those Moms

I’ve become one of those moms. The mom who talks about her baby’s poop during lunch with people who do not have babies. One of those moms who lets her kid touch and chew on other people’s arms and watches, never thinking that those people might not want baby slobber all over them. One of those moms who, in the middle of a conversation, will turn and say something to their baby in a babyish voice, even if the comment is intended for another adult. Let’s face it. I find those moms to be really annoying and I certainly do not want another person’s baby to drool on me. So why am I behaving this way, allowing my child to drool all over another adult, discussing her bowel movements, and being generally gushy all the time?

I blame it on lack of sleep making me a little crazy. And I’m blaming lack of sleep on teething, even though after all this time I don’t think it’s really teething’s fault. But I need a scapegoat, so there you have it. And Gerry, if you ever read this, I’m sorry I let Fiona try to chew on your nice watch or subjected you to poop talk during an otherwise very pleasant lunch.

Here are some photos of Fiona that John took last week:

Oh, and she has a new trick. Se opens and closes the bottom drawer of her dresser. I’ll try to get it on film sometime soon.
