I am almost finished with my first quarter as a graduate student. I need to finish a 20 page term paper and a take home final. Then I need to write a letter of recommendation and mail out holiday cards to everyone. It will be nice to have four weeks to just read and spend time with Fiona. Somehow, I never get tired of it.
Rolling is in full force, but only back to tummy. I can no longer leave her on her back and walk away. This week she also started to reach for and grab things that are just lying there (instead of being dangled in front of her). She started purposely batting at the penguin that hangs above her mat. Today she amused herself by making it swing. She also grabbed her foot. She likes to bat at and pull on the Whoozit. When she is on her stomach, it looks like she is trying to crawl, although I think we have months and months before that actually happens. John saw her pass her rattle from hand to hand. My mom told me that yesterday, she rolled back to tummy, to back, to tummy. I have not seen her do it though. EVERYTHING goes in her mouth. She started “chewing” on things, bringing her gums together and clamping them as well. I’m sure there is more, but my tired brain can’t think of anything right now.
Oh! She did sleep through the night on Tuesday, but hasn’t since then.
She rotates herself, don’t ask me how:
A new toy that she likes:
She is ready for arctic exploration:
I opened a box, and this is what was inside:
I LOVE her smile:
My mom was excited to tell me that Fiona was laughing. She does laugh. I love it!
Fiona’s first Chanukah!
She will also celebrate Christmas. I can’t wait to make Latkes, Ozen Haman (Hamentashen), Christmas cookies, and paint Easter Eggs with her. The good thing about being a mixed faith household is that we get to celebrate it all!
Her thumb healed nicely. We changed the band aids for two days, then just took them off. Fiona never even noticed.
Last, two videos. The first is longer. In short, I’m talking to Fiona and she is looking cute and talking back (in the second video).
