May is in two weeks so I’ll recap the ‘M’ month, March.
Victoria spent lots of time sitting on my dad’s lap:
Victoria loves my dad. After dinner, she will “ask” to be let out of her chair, then will walk over to him to sit in his lap. She even did at the fire station.
Remember these from February?
I remembered what they were. Fiona was sick and she drew white blood cells fighting a sick bug (the bug is that big thing on the right in the picture on the right). There is even a bandaid in the picture. I was reminded tonight when talking to Fiona about a cold she might have right now. She said she was picturing her white blood cells hitting the sick bugs and fighting them with swords.
Fiona met some mermaids, including Ariel and Prince Eric:
This mermaid gave Fiona a “wish” and an extra big hug for some reason:
This is John’s head:
He had Victoria in the stroller while I waited for Fiona to finish visiting with Kaia the mermaid. He was surrounded by people commenting on Victoria.
It was actually cold at some point and Fiona pulled Victoria in the wagon when we went for a walk:
Victoria climbed into a drum at Kindermusik:
Somewhere I have a photo of Fiona wearing this shirt and it reaches almost to her knees:
Fiona wore her Elsa dress to the Purim Carnival:
Nothing i safe from Victoria because she can, and will, open drawers:
It was also warm, so we spent time playing outside at my parents’ house, where Victoria was reading a book in the swing:
Victoria is a really coool baby:
Relaxing with the grandparents:
Fiona made her own sandwiches and then vacuumed the dining room:
It rained and filled up the water table and the little pool:
Fiona drew the Nook from “One Fish, Two Fish”:
What a cutie:
She loves wearing this hat!
She also loves to crawl under this chair:
Victoria loves playing hide and seek, including in Fiona’s closet:
Victoria LOVES books:
And to wear her food:
These girls make each other laugh hysterically:
Lots of outside time:
Fiona telling Victoria a secret:
Fiona loves to help with Victoria, especially putting on her shoes and socks:
Victoria likes taking things out of the cabinets. Sometimes she arranges things neatly:
And sometimes not:
We went to a local goat farm to see the newborn kids and buy some goats’ milk soap:
Fiona feeding a cow:
Because of the late season rains, everything is really green and all the wildflowers are blooming, making the scenery everywhere beautiful!
A hike we did in March, to Inspiraton Point in Santa Barbara. Fiona walked the entire thing (probably 3.5 miles or so, uphill one way, down the other):
Two girls in the tub:
We went whale watching:
We saw Grey whales, three together. They swam around, blew their spouts, and showed us their tails. We also saw lots of dolphins and I spotted two whales in the distance, but we did not have time to chase them. The naturalist on board told me he thought they were Fin whales. I took lots of video, but too lazy to upload. Plus, while it was a really nice day, perfect weather, and I met a nice mom on board, the whale sightings just weren’t as exciting as the whale from three years ago.
Fiona and a classmate at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade:
I don’t know why I have this picture:
John arranged Fiona’s breakfast fruit in interesting ways, usually some sort of face. She takes pictures. We have a camera that is filling up with photos of Fiona’s breakfast pictures.
Two of my loves:
Well, nothing as excting as the Firehouse Feed happened this week. It was hot today. Fiona started swimming lessons last week and loves them. Victoria is saying new words weekly. She now says mama, dada, some approximation of grandma and grandpa, Fiona is yaya now, dog, cat, bird, book, cheese, ya, and porbably others. Possibly she says “outside”. She has both upper canines and is working on the lower teethe. Most of her words are approximations, but cheese is definitely cheese. One day I asked her if she wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or grilled cheese. She said “Cheese!” and so that is what we ate for lunch. She immitated everything Fiona does. For example, Fiona was saying “crack crack crack” to simulate an egg cracking. Victoria said “ca ca ca”. She climbs everything, even tries to climb trees (photos of that in the April post coming soon), is beginning to eat with a spoon, and sometimes actually sleeps at night. She is such a joy and delight and it is so fun to watch Fiona and Victoria play together. We installed a bucket swing in the backyard and she loves being in it. She is very helpful and will sometimes clean up after she makes a big mess. She now eats avocado finally.
I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch of stuff. Fiona got the last of her molars, but I may have said that already in a previous post.
Hopefully I’ll write April’s post before the end of May.
Happy Spring!
