365 Days

…since Fiona was born. I can’t believe I went from this:

Please excuse the rambling.

It’s been a hard week, all the memories and feelings from last year have been with me. I know I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such a beautiful daughter. I wish her entrance into the world had been more pleasant for the both of us.

All in all it was a great day. First we made an early visit to our favorite coffee shop, Simone’s, and purchased muffins and candles. Then we came home and Fiona took a nap. Later, we went downtown and returned a book to the library and we met my parents at Beach House Tacos. We also met a bunch of moms from my mom’s group. We ate fish tacos and sang “Happy Birthday” to Fiona. We put a candle in a blueberry muffin for the occasion, but Fiona did not seem to like the muffin. She later made short work of the other muffin (carrot zucchini). After lunch, we went to the beach and Fiona enjoyed the swings. We went home so Fiona could nap and then had a visit from Nicole and Caz.

Fiona got a wonderful toy from John’s family, some great books from my mom (that I am sure she will chew up), some beautiful outfits and cute clothes from my Aunt Guila and Uncle Richard and from Nicole and Caz.

Here are some photos and video of the day. Of course her favorite part of everything was the wrapping paper.

I don’t have a photo of the muffin with the candle, but I will post one when I do. I still can’t believe my little tiny baby is a year old today. The person that said that the days were long but the years were short was not lying.

Oh, last thing…today there was a ring around the sun:
