Lately…

Time for a new car seat?

She is very obviously too big for the infant seat, but loves closing the buckles on it.

One day she wanted to play with the lights but I didn’t want to hold her up. I told her to get her stool, thinking she would get the small stool from her room. Instead, she opted for the closer and bigger bathroom stool. I heard some clunking, then saw a stool walking out of the bathroom. I think it yielded at least 10 minutes of entertainment for her.

We took Fiona on a hike at a local park. The wildflowers were in full bloom. The hike was short – 0.6 miles, but Fiona walked the whole way! Our little hiker! She wore the hat the whole day:

A lot of time was spent playing in the dirt along the way and occasionally throwing rocks:

She was so excited to run up this hill, and then run back down it:

We went to the Strawberry Festival and she ate corn on the cob:

These are from a year ago:

That was her first corn on the cob experience. She has loved it ever since.

Drinking a strawberry smoothy because it was really REALLY hot:

She asked me to lie on the floor with her:

I think this post has the greatest number of photos with me in them. John was looking at the camera one night and decided that we need to take more photos of me with Fiona. I am always the one behind the camera so I am not in the photos. I need evidence that I was actually there during her childhood, so he is determined to take more photos. I support that!

Yellow Ghost and Tea Party

Fiona loves running around naked in the back yard. Today she decided to wear a yellow towel and ran around like a ghost:

She stood up on the cover for the sand table:

Later in the day, she had a tea party with her Daddy:

They like to play a game in the bath called “Cupped Hands”. John cups his hands and Fiona fills them with water. I tried to do it with her, but she thinks John’s hands are much better:

John took some photos of her last night:

He asked her to hand over her pacifier and she did, then promptly asked for it back:

“Give me back my binkie, please.”

She still likes to wear my shoes and often puts on my heels. These are my running shoes:

She loves blueberries so much that when we ran out today, she looked forlornly at a card that had a picture of blueberries on it and put it to her mouth, saying “Blueberry, blueberry…” It was very sad.

On Wednesday we had a little meet up at our house and five other moms bought their kids over. Everyone had a good time and Fiona was very nice about sharing her toys. She is still happy on her own though:

Not long after I took this photo she stood up and announced that she had to pee. I grabbed a diaper and started walking to her. She began squatting and standing, and then before I could do anything, she pooped in the sand box. Then she stepped in it. It was really gross, but I cleaned her up, got rid of the poop in the box and diapered her up. It was getting a  little chilly, so I put some clothes on her as well. Now every time we are in the back yard, she points to the sandbox and says “poop.” She even told John about it when he got home that night. She stood by the back door, pointed to where the sand box is and said, “poop.” She has yet to go back into it. I think she is a little afraid.
